Topic: Electric Shaver recommendations Posted: 21/May/2012 at 7:15am |

I'm thinking of shaving my head and have decided on using an electric razor. What makes and models are others using and how do you rate them?

I'm considering picking up a trimmer, (such as istubble) and having an
experiment with blades for my safety razor. Picked up some Wilkinson
Sword Classics, and Gillette 7 O'clocks, as well as some new soap for
sensitive skin from Proraso. I'll see how I get on with those, and if
it's an improvement, I may just get a trimmer and use it daily, and only
wet shave when needed.

Hi Chris, When I still had some hair on my head but not much I bought an electric razor. Its a Philips - one of the ones with the three round blades. Have found it very good. I have heard some of the guys on here say only a wet shave can get things really close and they may be right but I think less chance you will cut yourself with electric. Elaine x

I used to use a Braun contour, it was the only one that seemed to cut it close to the skin for a smooth look, which minimised the patchy look. Its all fallen out now so no more shaving...hooray!

I have been shaving my head with an electric razor for about three years, and just recently bought a new one. The original one I had was a foil type Remington, and while it gave good results if used daily, it was really difficult to get a shave with 2 or more day's growth. My new razor is a Philips, with the three rotating heads. It's light-years better, and can cope with much longer stubble with ease.

Hi Guys,
I've not shaved my head yet but I believe I'll have no choice but too
shave it soon. I've never liked using bic style razors on my face and
have always used an electric razor. My question is would it be better to
use a razer ment for shaving or clippers without a gage?
I've been looking at wahl balding clippers

You will probably do well to buy a decent set of clippers to get it down to a blade 1, and then if you want to go "smooth" use an electric razor. The Wahl clippers I have are very good. Alternatively if you intend to stay "smooth" you could just go to a barbers and get it strummed down and use your electric razor regularly to save buying clippers. Good luck, and all that jazz :)
