I have been wearing a vacuum hairpiece for the past 20 years - It is very secure and I have been on many roller coasters - although I still always put my hand on my head - just in case! I have Alopecia Totalis which enables the silicon cap of the wig to secure to my smooth scalp.x

hiya,
i use supertape itll secure any wig or hair system..you can buy it on ebay just make sure the day you go on the rollercoaster you retape the system that morning just to ensure extra tightness.  |

hi Julialee....my sister says my niece cant remember the girls name as it was a couple of years ago and they only went to the one meeeting.....maybe some other know who have been arond a while??

hi Julialee.....i had heard of the Freedom wig from another web site and it is on my short list....a girl Lib answered my post on the crash coarse on hair post....and while she didnt say it was Freedom it did sound like it.....
re the NHS i found out there was a woman who had a charity in Wales, my niece went to on of her open meetings, she got to know her daughter and she said her mum got her a freedom wig paid by the NHS...i will see if my sister can tell me what the charity was and if she can remember what the womans name was.....
i will be buying the wig for my niece and if you say the freedom wig can do what you say...it would be worth it for me to see her swimming again....
thanks for the feedback and i like that proactive aproach....the more the better....and dont be put off by the knockers....

To Uncle Bob,The only wig I know of that does not fall off is the freedom wig you can swim and do most things in it without blowing off. I have no hair and specialist said was suitable for me but the nhs in my area will not authorize these yet.Some of us with same problem have been suggesting that we get same value prescription and we pay remainder,but no luck yet. The last I heard they cost around £1200.for a short one.

so far i have only heard of one wig that will do this every time and never fails. the people i have spoken to say you do have to have no hair at all...you must shave everthing.....this is a tough call, but i understand if you did this you will be able to do the things you want to do. if you do let me know on this post and i will give you the contact person....i am looking for the same thing for my niece and the info i got from jaye london about hair and now your post on your needs, give me another point towards this wig...thank you

wig tape will adhere to your hair, the front will be the essential area with a few pieces of tape around the perimeter.

If you don't want to shave your entire head, you could just remove the hair in the areas that you would use tape?

Hi All
I am 27 and have been wearing synthetic wigs since I was 16. I lost almost all my hair due to leukaemia at 18 months old and now just have a little bit left which is very thin and doesn't cover all of my head.
I am getting married in 5 weeks time and have got a new wig lined up and ready for the wedding. However, a week beforehand we are going to a theme park for the hen party. Now, I have been before and have secured my wig in the past by wearing a beanie hat or a scarf tied around my head, but this time I would like to try and secure it without having to wear anything over the top because we'll probably be dressing up and I can't see a beanie hat looking good with a pink tutu!!
Has anyone had any experience in securing a wig well enough for it to stay on whilst riding high speed roller coasters? My main issue is that I don't have enough hair under my wig cap to secure the wig to, yet my head isn't bald to be able to use wig tape.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
