I have just been watching the British ladies team pursuit and the gold has been taken by the magnificent British team.  It would appear that one of the gold medal winners is an alopecian - Joanna Rowsell

So that's team GB's second gold medal holding alopecian, along with the marvellous Duncan Goodhew.

Maybe bald is a competitive advantage.  I'm going to dust off my bike now :)

Two reasons to be proud! Team GB and team out and proud!

I watched that too, and felt wow how great to be at the top of your sport and confident enough for hair not to be an issue, good on her!

Being at her  physical level sort of  proves that diet and vitamins probably have little effect on alopecia, it does what it wants to do and you just have to go with it. It also proves you can be healthy and fit even if you have hair loss.

I was also delighted to see Jo Rowsell looking so joyful and proud. What an amazing achievment. Just goes to show that life is what you make it and alopecia is no barrier to getting to the top or to acceptance. She will certainly get more people talking about alopecia, which has to be a good thing. Well done Jo!Clap
