Hi everyone

I have been on a hair loss journey for about 6 year now, firstly seeing a dermatologist and being told that I had alopecia, but that I would never lose all of my hair.

Being as my hair began falling out in clumps, I have recently seen another dermatologist, who suggested a scalp biopsy, which revealed scarring alopecia. He has diagnosed dermovate scalp treatment and doxycycline to be taken for three months to try and slow down the hair loss.

I have done a lot of crying, but my hair looks OK straight after washing and styling, but the second day is really flat and hard to manage.

I do not want to have a wig, so I looked at the possibility of visiting a hair loss clinic that can interweave human hair in with your own hair, to make it look thicker.

Has anyone else had the experience of one of these clinics, and is treatment available on the NHS?    I believe that they are very expensive!

This is a very cruel disease, and I would appreciate any advice from fellow sufferers.

Hey it sucks! Your story sounds similar to mine. I haven't look into wigs or anything but if you find something that works please share. Thanks all the best x
