Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I think that it would be useful if more information about each member was available. At the present time all you really have to show is a username and nothing else. Quite often posts are made by people showing a username only and I do not know if the person is male or female, young or old or where they live.

We do not need full details that would allow a person to be traced but some indication of the person would be really useful.

In the location section it merely states that we live in the UK or in the USA or some other county. Why not let people show which county they live in and then a closer indication such as a town or a county or a region.

It would help when reading a post if we knew if it was a man or a woman making a point. The same goes for age group.

A better understanding of the person would certainly help us all to appreciate another persons viewpoint better.

Regards

Ray

Absolutely!  It would be a big help to know who you're talking to and a little bit about them.

Yes I agree, it can be a bit confusing sometimes!!!
One advantage of being bald is that you can't see the grey hairs as you get older.
So no need to worry about them!

good point Ray, it is so inpersonal (is that a real word?)to have to reply to somebody as a username that doesn`t bear any resemblence to a real name. I understand that some people are shy but at least a first name would be nice

Hi.

I am afraid I disagree. A persons opinion should be respected and treated as valid regardless of age, gender, etc and the annonymity prevents preconceptions about a person.

If you find that you connect with someone, you can always pm them to request more info and then they have the choice to respond or not.

Sorry if this seems too critical. Just my opinion.

Best Wishes,
CJ

Hi Sandra, a forum is for opinions and no it doesn`t seem critical what you say.
My opinion is that people are kind of narrowing down responses though by not putting anything about themselves. what I mean by that is if a user says for example: alopecia is making them feel unattrative to the opposite sex because of patches on their head, as a man I could relate to that if I knew I was answering another guy and would advise that perhaps they shave their hair off. I couldn`t relate an answer to a woman like that without it sounding flippant. If I didn`t know if it was a man or woman I wouldn`t say anything and I would not PM them because some woman seem to think you have a motive behind trying to speak to them.
There are so many people who register, ask a question and members spend time answering posts only for there never to be another response. It is the little things like that, that have changed this site from what previously felt like a community to a message board.
It is great to see you post, please keep your opinions coming and please to all those that say this site isn`t what it used to be, do something about it with more discussion.
All the best to Mark and Corban

Hi Sandra,

Great to read your post and no I am not offended because you have a different view to mine. It is good though to see that you list your name and you age and that you live in the UK. It makes is so much easier to understand a person when I know something about them.

I do agree with you in that a persons opinion should be respected regardless of their sex or age but sometimes it helps to see where a person is coming from if you know a bit about them. I am not asking for everyone to list full addresses or names or telephone numbers or even email addresses but the simple information that you have provided really makes a difference.

Keep your opinions coming!!!!! It’s what the forum is all about!!!!!!!!

Regards

Ray

Since the beginning of rappelz rupees, time never has there been another with my mind, my heart, my eyes, my ears, my hands, my hair, my mouth. None that came before, none that live today, and none that come tomorrow can walk and talk and move and think exactly like me. All men are my brothers yet I am different from each. I am a unique creature.I am nature's greatest miracle.Although I am of the animal kingdom, animal rewards alone will not satisfy me. Within me burns a flame, which has been passed from generations uncounted and its heat is a constant irritation to my spirit to become better than I am, and I will. I will fan this flame of dissatisfaction and proclaim my uniqueness to the rappelz rupees world.
           replica sunglasses,
None can duplicate my brush strokes, none can make my chisel marks, none can duplicate my handwriting, none can produce my child, and, in truth, none has the ability to sell exactly as I. Henceforth, I will capitalize on this difference for it is an asset to be promoted to the fullest.I am nature's greatest miracle.Vain attempts to imitate others no longer will I make. Instead will I place my uniqueness on display in the market place. I will proclaim it, yea, I will sell it. I will begin now to accent my differences; hide my similarities. So too will I apply this principle to the goods I sell. Salesman and goods, different from all others, and proud of the difference.I am a unique creature of nature.replica sunglasses

I am rare, and there is value in all rarity; therefore, I am valuable. I am the end product of thousands of years of evolution; therefore, I am better equipped in both mind and body than all the emperors and wise men who preceded me.But my skills, my mind, my heart, and my body will stagnate, rot, and die lest I put them to good use. I have unlimited potential. Only a small portion of my brain do I employ; only a paltry amount of my muscles do I flex. A hundredfold or more can I increase my accomplishments of yesterday and this I will do, beginning today.maple story power leveling
           world of warcraft gold,
Nevermore will I be satisfied with yesterday's accomplishments nor will I indulge, anymore, in self-praise for deeds which in reality are too small to even acknowledge. I can accomplish far more than I have, and I will, for why should the miracle which produced me end with my birth? Why can I not extend that miracle to my deeds of today?
I am nature's greatest miracle.I am not on this earth by chance. I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply all my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy.world of warcraft gold
                wedding dresses,
I will increase my knowledge of mankind, myself, and the goods I sell, thus my sales will multiply. I will practice, and improve, and polish the words I utter to sell my goods, for this is the foundation on which I will build my career and never will I forget that many have attained great wealth and success with only one sales talk, delivered with excellence. Also will I seek constantly to improve my manners and graces, for they are the sugar to which all are attracted.I am nature's greatest miracle.wedding dresses
                        Atlantica gold,
I will concentrate my energy on the challenge of the moment and my actions will help me forget all else. The problems of my home will be left in my home. I will think naught of my family when I am in the market place for this will cloud my thoughts. So too will the problems of the market place be left in the market place and I will think naught of my profession when I am in my home for this will dampen my love. There is no room in the market place for my family, nor is there room in my home for the market. Each I will divorce from the other and thus will I remain wedded to both. Separate must they remain or my career will die. This is a paradox of the ages.Atlantica gold

Hi Guys,
I can see both sides of the argument but lean more towards Ray's thinking if for no other reason than that it is easier to maybe help someone if you know you are 'talking' to a 20 year old female as opposed to a 65 year old male! I know I have not replied to some posts for this reason - I wouldn't know where to start!
