When we set up Alopecia UK, we realised that a lot of people were keen to meet other people with experience of alopecia. We therefore decided to provide a means by which people can find out about groups that already exist as well as helping to start new groups. People who are interested in starting a group can provide us with details of where they live (just the rough area i.e. York) and we then put this on the support groups page of the site.

People can then get in touch with Alopecia UK if they are interested in meeting up with people who live in that area. We then pass on that persons email address to you so that you can get in touch. At this point we can advise you about meeting up safely.

As a group is established we will provide support, including a web page for the group where meetings can be advertised and photos displayed.

We hope that this will start more UK based support groups as well as making it easier for people to find groups that already exist. If you know of or run a group that would like our support get in touch via the contact us page.
