On Sunday 6th November, Dave Utley ran 26.2 miles in aid of Alopecia UK. Starting at 8am on a drizzly overcast Sunday morning, Dave started his run with supporters from the Bury Pacers, the local running club. At every mile he was met by his brother-in-law and a friend to change into a new wig - many of which were extremely fetching! Taking on lots of fluids and many jelly babies, Dave completed the gruelling course in under five hours and still had the energy to play with his two young sons. This is Dave’s first ever marathon and was a tremendous personal achievement, not to mention a fantastic event to raise both awareness (Dave’s local paper ran a story, with a brilliant family photo) and much needed funds to support Alopecia UK. Thanks to everyone who supported Dave.
