Last Friday, 16 year old Chloe Jones from Holyhead leapt out of a plane at 10,000 feet to raise money for Alopecia UK. We caught up with her to discuss her brave endeavour:
Why did you decide on a skydive?
Chloe: I thought a sky dive would be something different to the usual fundraising events and so I thought it might raise more sponsorship funds for charity. It is also something bit more challenging and something I have always wanted to do.
Why did you choose to raise funds for Alopecia UK?
Chloe: I think Alopecia UK is a brilliant charity. It is also something personal to me as Alopecia UK has been there for me and my family through my journey with the condition, so I wanted to give something back.
Were you scared when you jumped out of the plane?
Chloe: I was really nervous in the plane but there was no way I was going to back out as so many people had supported me!
How did you feel afterwards?
Chloe: I felt amazing afterwards because the jump was such a buzz. It was so awesome! I had a great sense of accomplishment as I had achieved what I had initially set out to do – to help others and hopefully inspire other young people with alopecia too.
Would you do another skydive?
Chloe: Definitely, 100%!
Chloe would also like to add a huge thank you to everyone who has supported and helped her:
“Thanks to my family, mam, dad, my sister Jasmine, Charlotte Evans with BCS Juniors and David Hughes with the Round Table (for covering the cost of the transportation to the sky dive) and everyone who sponsored me.”
