Later this month a pub in Cleethorpes, The Trawlerman, is hosting its third 'Mini-Fest' music event. This year we are very lucky that the event is this year raising money for Alopecia UK. We had a chat with Stuart Isherwood from The Trawlerman to find out more about the event......
Tell us about the 'Mini-Fest', what have you got planned?
Avenue 44 will be running the music area of the 'Mini-Fest', headed-up by our very own barman Phil Stocks (Phil has alopecia). This will be the third year in a row we have hosted this event and the first time we are supporting Alopecia UK.
Currently we have a confirmed line up of three bands;
- Suit and Ties
- Lost By Eleven
- Kismet Ryding
We also have seven confirmed acoustic acts joining us;
- Through the Cracks
- Les Wood
- Trigg Dowse
- Sam Hockaday
- Hattie Cattell
- The Resistance
- Phil Stocks
We will be providing some games for kids (and big kids!) to have fun with;
- Noughts and Crosses
- Snakes and Ladders
- Connect Four
- Hook A Duck
We will also have an inflatable, a basketball hoop and face painting.
There will be a cake stall for Alopecia UK and staff will be in fancy dress (festival inspired theme!).
Why is The Trawlerman supporting Alopecia UK?
We decided to support Alopecia UK as one of our team members, Phil, has recently been diagnosed with alopecia and it's a great way of helping him through this tough time, as well as expanding the reach and knowledge of this illness. We will be proud to wear our Alopecia UK t-shirts and wristbands and will have a few wristbands for sale in the pub.
When is the 'Mini-Fest' taking place?
The event takes place on Sunday 30th August, with the live music starting from 1pm.
We hope the event is a huge success. If you live in or around Cleethorpes, please do support the event if you can. The Trawlerman pub address is North Sea Lane, Cleethorpes, South Humberside, DN35 0PT.
