A team of ladies with alopecia will be going up against BBC2's quiz brains, the Eggheads, on Thursday 17th March at 6pm.
Emma Skipper is one of the team members of 'A Clearer Head'
"I've had alopecia on and off for over 20 years. My hair started to fall out during my final exams at university but I only experienced a small amount of hair loss. I had patches that started at the side of my head and above my ears. I was able to use a headband to disguise it.
I did have some treatment with a trichologist over this time and I did have some regrowth.
Then in 1999, my hair fell out again. This time it was total hair loss and this was very distressing. Eventually I came to terms with it and invested in a few wigs and lots of hats and caps.
Since then my hair has grown back but I never got excited about it as it would never stay for long.
When my nephew was 3 or 4 years old he saw me in a wig and asked me "Why are you wearing 'that hat'?!"
I am so proud to have been part of the 'A Clearer Head' team with some ladies who I had not met before but are now friends. To appear on national TV as a team of bare-headed bald ladies is a great awareness opportunity."
Thank you to Emma for being part of the 'A Clearer Head' team! Emma's opponent in her individual round was Kevin. Tune in on Thursday 17th March, 6pm, to see if Emma managed to knockout Kevin!
