Changing Faces- Yorkshire and The Humber, are offering a range of workshops in April, designed to support the families and friends of people affected by a visible difference. All groups will take place at The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield, S1 4FW.
13th April 2016 – Parents Group
This session is suitable for parents who have a child of any age (including adult) who live with a visible difference. We will provide cakes and coffee with the opportunity to talk and listen to other parents in safe and supportive environment. You will also learn about the importance of self-care and the need to look after yourself in order to cope with some of the challenges parenting can present. The group will meet from 8pm-10pm and everyone will be warmly welcomed.
20th April 2016 – Siblings Group
This group is open to children aged 8 to 15 who have a sister or brother with a visible difference. Come along to our after school workshop where there will be a pizza tea, games, creative activities and most importantly, the chance to chat with other children and teenagers and share experiences. You will also learn about positive and fun ways to take care of yourself at home. This session will run from 4.30pm-6.45pm.
27th April 2016 – Partners and close friends Group
Do you have a partner or good friend who has a visible difference? Come along to our after work group for coffee, cakes and a chat. This group will offer you the chance to learn from one another, explore ways to help your partner/friend(s) and also give you the time to focus on your own needs so that you feel equipped and able to support your loved one. The group will meet from 7-9pm. All welcome.
