Twelve runners (including myself) ran the British 10km on Sunday 12th July to raise funds for Alopecia UK. There were over 27,000 other charity runners taking part and getting across the start-line took team AUK anything from 10 to 45 minutes! The atmosphere was electric as we twisted & turned around the course route, taking in the sights, and being cheered along by the crowd. My favourite part was running over Westminster Bridge and then heading back towards Whitehall passing Big Ben.
A special thanks to everyone who took part, either running or supporting those who ran, and for raising valuable funds for AUK. To date around £1000 has been pledged via JustGiving alone. You are amazing.
We shall be taking part again next year so, if you are interested in the Brit 10km 2010, please email me your details.
