Sadiq Khan MP visits Alopecia UK

9th September 2009

On the 3rd September Sadiq Khan MP visited Alopecia UK to find out a bit more about the charity, which is based in his Tooting constituency He was very interested in the work being done to support people with this challenging condition, and in the plans to further fundraise and develop the services offered. Alopecia UK funds its activities by helping to run fundraising events and from donations. There is evidence of demand to develop its services, to produce printed material for distribution, information packs for children, parents and teachers, and expand its support services and research activity. It has no office and relies on volunteers working from home. Its success is endorsed daily by forum members, and it is now planning a step-change to put the charity on a more permanent and stable basis. To help achieve this Sadiq Khan has very generously volunteered to run the Asics 10k London Run in 2010 to raise sponsorship money to help. Watch this space.
