My name is Lucy Foster, I am currently a Rehabilitation Psychology Masters student at The University of Nottingham looking to find people who have had alopecia.
I am seeking individuals who would be open to filling in an email interview about their experience of having alopecia. Specifically I am investigating the psychological experiences before during and after alopecia. I am also looking for people’s view on what is needed for a psychological treatment.
The research interview will take approximately one hour to fill in. The questions are open and will invite you to explore and discuss your own experiences.
If you would like to take part and /or discuss this research further please contact me directly on 07817634322 or send me an email.
If you know anyone else who might be willing to share their experience, I would be grateful if you would forward this information to them.
Please see the research flyer below.
I look forward to hearing from you.

“Narrative Psychology: Investigating how to treat alopecia and the experience of living with it”
The email interview is planned to understand your experience of living with alopecia. It is also intended to examine the experiences happening before the onset of alopecia, the beneficial coping strategies people used during alopecia, the psychological impact it had, and the change it has had on you after recovery.
Due to the lack of psychological treatment available, this study aims to provide outlines of what people with alopecia would like to see in a psychological treatment.
- The study will take the form of semi-structured email interview taking approximately one hour
- The research will be conducted in accordance with The University of Nottingham’s ethical guidelines
- All measures will be taken to ensure anonymity.
If you are interested and would like to participate or simply know more about the research please contact me on 07817634322 or lpxlef@nottingham.ac.uk.
