To continue our week of announcements to celebrate 1000 (yes, that’s ONE THOUSAND!) forum members, Alopecia UK are proud to announce that Dr Andrew Messenger, Dr Sue McHale and Dr Nigel Hunt have all become members of the Alopecia UK Advisory Panel.
Dr Andrew Messenger is one of the UK's leading dermatologists in alopecia. Based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, he has been involved in research for over 20 years, as well as seeing patients in his clinics.
Dr Nigel Hunt lectures at the University of Nottingham, specialising in the study of the impact of traumatic events on mental and physical health. He has a particular interest in the psychological impact of alopecia.
Dr Sue McHale lectures at Sheffield Hallam University, specialising in biopsychology. She has a specific interest in psychoneuroimmunological aspects of alopecia.
They join wig and semi-permanent make-up experts on our advisory panel.
The Alopecia UK advisory panel are on hand to make sure that the information and advice we pass to you is as accurate and helpful as it can be.
We are also working with the NHS to improve the provision of wigs on the NHS and will be launching the ‘what you can get on the NHS’ section of the website soon.
Don’t forget that to celebrate the 1000th forum member we have a fun quiz with a top prize of a signed book of ‘Coping with Alopecia’ by Dr Sue McHale and Dr Nigel Hunt, as well as a buff, excellent for keeping your head warm in the freezing weather.
