Alopecia UK is thrilled to announce that composer John Altman has agreed to become the latest ambassador for Alopecia UK.
John has had an outstanding career working with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse and Prince, to name just a few! Not only is John an Emmy and BAFTA award winning composer, he is also a musical director, conductor and saxophonist.
John helped create Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright of Life" with Eric Idle. He is also one of the most prolific writers of music for commercials, with the 'Sheila's Wheels' theme tune being one of John's compositions.
John hasn't let his alopecia stop him in his successful career and he is keen to raise the profile of both the condition and the charity.
John is going to be involved in a fundraiser in March 2015, details of which will be announced shortly.
Alopecia UK's Communications Manager, Amy Johnson, explains: "We really are delighted for John to be joining our existing ambassadors. We are hopeful that John can help us to raise the profile of the charity and are really excited about the event he will be involved with in March 2015, which will also include fellow AUK ambassador and singer, Toni Warne."
John says: "I'm delighted to be an ambassador for Alopecia UK. There is no reason for alopecia to stop people being whatever they feel they want to be".
