Alopecia UK is pleased to announce that Women's England Rugby Union star Heather Fisher has become the latest addition to the charity's ambassador team.
In 2014 Heather was part of the England team which won the rugby union World Cup. The team won the 'Team of the Year' award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Heather contacted Alopecia UK a short while ago, wanting to get involved in raising awareness of the condition and the charity. She is keen to support others with the condition.
Heather says: "I am so excited to become an ambassador for Alopecia UK. It is a huge honour. Iíve been wanting to get involved in something to help others with alopecia and really admire the Alopecia UKís aims around support and awareness. Itís a great charity that has a passionate team behind it".
Alopecia UK's Communications Manager Amy Johnson adds: "It's fantastic when high-profile individuals with alopecia contact the charity wanting to lend their assistance. Heather has achieved fantastic things and we hope she can inspire the younger generation with alopecia to show them that their hair loss does not have to stop them from doing anything they want to do in life. We're looking forward to working with Heather."
Heather continues: "I hope to help those who struggle with ďbeing differentĒ and hopefully they can see that itís ok. My message is donít let this condition stop you from living your life and reaching your dreams. Stand tall and be yourself!Ē
