Kelly Wakefield and her friend Kirsty White are fundraising for Alopecia UK this month. We spoke to Kelly to find out more.......
Tell us what you are doing to raise money for Alopecia UK
Kirsty and I are doing the 'Color Run' in Birmingham on Saturday 15th August. It's a 5k run which claims to be 'the happiest 5k on the planet!"
What is your personal experience with alopecia?
My daughter Ferne was recently diagnosed with alopecia at 15 months old. She was born with a full head of hair and by 8 weeks all her hair, eyelashes and eyebrows had fallen out and never grew back.
Why did you decide to fundraise for Alopecia UK?
I decided to fundraise for Alopecia UK because it's a charity very close to my heart after all that we have gone through so far with Ferne. The support we have received so far through Alopecia UK has been amazing and I know in years to come it's somewhere for Ferne to go for support too. Kirsty is Ferne's Godmother so was keen to support.
Thank you so much to Kelly and Kirsty for their fundraising efforts. If you wish to sponsor them you can visit their fundraising page here.
