University of Huddersfield PhD student seeks participants for study

13th January 2016

Relatives’ experiences of having an adolescent family member who has alopecia: A PhD student at the University of Huddersfield seeks participants

A PhD student at the University of Huddersfield is looking for individuals to take part in her study.

Little is known about what it is like to have a young family member (aged 10-19) who has alopecia. This study wants to understand more about the experience of alopecia from a relative’s perspective as their family member goes through their teenage life. By looking at family members experiences, we can potentially identify unmet needs and make recommendations for future development for young people with alopecia and their wellbeing.

The study requires individuals (over the age of 16) to talk about their experiences of having a relative with alopecia. You could for example be a parent of an adolescent who is experiencing or has experienced alopecia, a legal guardian, a grandparent or sibling.Should you wish to take part in this study, your identity and your relative’s identity will remain anonymous by using false names in the report.

This is an online interview so you can take part in the comfort of your own home.

This participant information sheet explains more.
