A team of Alopecia UK volunteers accompanied Mark and his 'Alopeciamobile' - a MG convertible adorned with Alopecia UK artwork - in the August bank holiday MADHurst Carnival parade in Midhurst, West Sussex.
The idea behind the car is simply to raise awareness of alopecia and the work that Alopecia UK does to support those living with hair loss. Mark has taken his MG to a number of different rallies and events this year and it's an innovative way to get our name out there!
In Midhurst, Mark was helped out by Alopecia UK volunteers Elaine, Carly (and daughter Phoebe), Mandy and Diane (and children Lauren and Logan).
The day was enjoyed by all who took part but was a particular success for Mandy, who was recently diagnosed and received a huge confidence boost from taking part.
The spectators were very encouraging and applauded as the procession went down the street. Many also walked up to the ladies to ask questions about the alopecia and offer words of support.
Alopecia UK balloons, wristbands and leaflets were distributed helping to boost the awareness efforts on the day.
And the sun even made an appearance, making the day extra special!
Perhaps next year the Alopeciamobile will join the carnival procession with a few more volunteers to help too!
