Daniel Regan became involved with the charity Alopecia UK through this project with the hopes of raising awareness about Alopecia and generating striking images that could represent those affected by the condition. Each has been affected in a different way and it has been a pleasure to meet, learn, and explore the importance that our society places upon hair, who has it, and how much we have of it.
His photography has often centered around body image and he thrive on connecting on a personal level with the people that he photographs and consistently aims to create a creative yet sensitive approach to the project.
Daniel first met Nataleigh at a friendís night out. 'I was instantly drawn into her wide eyes and mentioned how beautiful her hair looked. Her casual response, "itís not mine," caught me by surprise and we instantly hit it off. Her nonchalant attitude towards Alopecia intrigued me and we discussed the lack of powerful imagery surrounding the condition. In my search for more models to photograph I contacted Alopecia UK who agreed to back my project and in return allow them (with the modelís consent) to use the images for any publicity and fundraising campaigns they may run.'
'I am currently looking for models of all sizes, shapes, genders, sexualities and backgrounds to be photographed for this project. I am based in North London where I have a comfortable home studio. I can be contacted by email
or phone on + 447885 569782. Thank you.'
