Synthetic WigsSandra Plaskow on Synthetic wigsIn 2002 my mother passed away and I began my continuing battle with alopecia. Throughout the last 5 years I have researched extensively on the subject of wigs in order to get the best and most natural looking and comfortable wigs around. My first wig was from Selfridges and was by Revlon, at the time I thought it looked great but now with the advances in fibres, I can see how “wiggy” it looked and today the improvements are enormous, which is lucky for us. I have never worn a human hair wig as I decided early on that as I was out of the habit of styling my own hair I wanted something that was easy to look after. Acrylic wigs have the advantage of wash and go, going back into the original style after washing. Over the years I have experimented with many styles and colours and have become more adventurous because I can! I now choose wigs in modern acrylic fibres that look as natural as my own hair with the advantage that “bad hair days” are a thing of the past (if you know what I mean). There are many advantages to acrylic wigs and at present I am having a bespoke wig made to my head measurements but with acrylic hair. Here are my plus points
We have to live with this so we must make the best of it. At present I have 4 wigs on the go. A mid length red number with flicked ends, a straight blond over dark bob. A curly wig and a blond streaky number. I love them all, so this is my case for acrylic wigs, so go enjoy! |
